Natacha and I met at the Kuhmo festival in 2011 and since then ran into each other at all kinds of festivals: Oxford, Osnabrück, Cividale, my own Stift Festival Elverum, Düsseldorf and others. After playing a pretty wide repertoire together at all these festivals it felt quite natural to turn this into something a little more fixed. Our first disc together, “Les années folles” (Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc, Antheil, Gerschwin & Piazzolla) was recorded at Potton Hall and was released in 2015 by the Dutch label Gutman Records. I’m happy that the record met with some very warm reviews.
In 2016 we were back in the studio, this time at Champs Hill, to record an all Enescu disc (Second and Third Sonata and the wonderful Impressions d’enfance) for Champs Hill Records. The CD was released last November has had some wonderful reviews! Both records are music very close to my heart, and I look forward to playing these works in concert over the next seasons!
