The Rowland-Kudritskaya Duo brings together two exceptionally expressive, colorful and communicative artists, who are both known for their highly personal, exiting and adventurous performances. Having met at the Kuhmo festival in Finland in 2010, they have since then performed and recorded widely, garnering acclaim from the international press:
“ Daniel Rowland and Natacha Kudritskaya prove to be the perfect partnership and give an exquisite performance – highly recommended “ BBC Music Magazine
“ Sometimes a reviewer spots a CD that simply may not go unnoticed… a recording it is impossible for one to switch off. The interplay between the artists is magnificent. This is chamber music of the highest level” “ De Volkskrant
“ Daniel Rowland has a powerful, glamorous tone, gleaming at the top and throaty and rugged down at the bottom, and Natacha Kudritskaya matches him every bar of the way for passion, fantasy and precision… stellar playing “ Gramophone
“ Gorgeous, intense and hyper musical interpretations “ NRC Handelsblad
“ Rowland and Kudritskaya demonstrated their unique musical partnership impressively, and their well-balanced interplay was not only beautiful to listen to but also exciting to watch “ Concerto Net
“[Daniel Rowland] is a very stylish and charismatic player, and he understands this music perfectly. His partner, Russian-born pianist Natacha Kudritskaya, is just as well attuned to Enescu’s idiom and draws bewitching sounds from her instrument.” American Record Guide
Natacha and I met at the Kuhmo festival in 2011 and since then ran into each other at all kinds of festivals: Oxford, Osnabrück, Cividale, my own Stift Festival Elverum, Düsseldorf and others. After playing a wide repertoire together at all these festivals it felt quite natural to turn this into something a little more fixed. Our first disc together, “Les années folles” (Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc, Antheil, Gerschwin & Piazzolla) was recorded at Potton Hall and was released in 2015, and in 2016 we were back in the studio, this time at Champs Hill, to record an all Enescu disc (Second and Third Sonata and the wonderful Impressions d’enfance) for Champs Hill Records. Both records are music very close to my heart, and we have greatly enjoyed performing these works in concert over the last seasons. The next recording was made at Champs Hill in late 2018 , and will be released in February: “A French connection: Chausson, Franck & Debussy“, dedicated to David Bowerman. Plans for the near future include Prokoffief-Shostakowitch, and ‚around Stravinsky‘
