Stifestival 2023

It’s somehow not easy to find the right words to describe how happy/delighted/grateful/inspired I feel, looking back at the 19th Stiftfestival ‘A Mediterranean Voyage’, that ended exactly a week ago. All the elements seemed to come together to create 9 days full of joy/exuberance/inspiration/spontaneity/intensity/wonderful living-in-the moment/delicious food & countless magical moments and even the weather was mostly Mediterranean😅 All of this thanks to a true dream team of genius-musician-friends and ideal production team, headed by wonderful Ilonka. As anyone who enjoys cooking up hopefully inventive festival programs knows, it all can only spring to life in the hands of adventurous, boundlessly creative, brilliant & generous artists, and these 9 days I felt very very blessed to be surrounded by them 🙏
Now we are already planning for the 20th (time really does fly…) festival in August ‘24 – watch this space – but here is a selection of typically brilliant photos by one and only Șerban Mestecăneanu, who has captured the festival spirit perfectly🙏. I have to say it wasn’t easy to choose…
