Roxanna Panufnik premiere at Concertgebouw

That was quite a weekend! What a total joy to premiere Roxanna Panufnik’s gorgeously fantastical, evocative and extatic ‘Songs of love and friendship’, commissioned by AVROTROS and ‘my’ Stiftfestival, at the Concertgebouw yesterday with the incredible Groot Omroepkoor conducted by their wonderful chief conductor and friend Benjamin Goodson. In the first movement the violin is a sparrow, darting around the choir, the second is gloriously passionate. Thank you Roxanna! 🙏😍 I can’t wait to play this again with these fantastic partners in crime, at Stift on August 27 in the Muziekcentrum Enschede, then in combination with the premiere of Elena Firsova Chamber Concerto and Rachmaninow’s Vespers! 🤗
